Our Story
In 2007, we began digging fossils as a fascinating hobby. Our hobby has now morphed into a lifelong passion for the entire family. Our cousin and neighbor, Clayton Phipps, was the first to introduce us to digging fossils. He showed us what to look for, and where to look for it geologically. He has been a great supporter of our discoveries. Over the years, our kids have moved their families back to help work the family ranch. Each generations passion has grown as they explore digging fossils. We started Pierson Fossil Company LLC as a family business in the year 2021, with all three generations involved. We dig dinosaur fossils exclusively on our private land located in the Hell Creek formation. We never buy and resell fossils. When you buy from us, you know you are getting the real deal. We dig during the summer months beginning as soon as winter releases it’s icy grip on the land, and dig until the ground freezes again in the fall. Digging usually comes to an end in late October. During the winter we spend our time marketing, and educating ourselves to prepare for the next season of digging. We hope you enjoy this seasons finds.
